Hong Kong and Chicago: April 16, 2021 – Mandarin Matrix announces its Board of Directors has appointed 20-year education leader Robert Davis Jr. (Bob) as the company’s new Global Chief Executive Officer.
Bob Davis succeeds David Tait, founder of Mandarin Matrix, who will move up as Executive Chairman.
“We are all delighted to welcome Bob Davis to Mandarin Matrix. As we pivot in the wake of this past year’s extraordinary disruptions to education, Bob’s insight and experience will be an invaluable addition to the expansion of Mandarin Matrix globally,” said Executive Chairman, David Tait.
Highly experienced in Chinese Language and Cultural Education, Davis started his career instructing English at The Xi’an International Studies University and studied Chinese at Peking University. In 1999, he established The Chinese World Language Program in Chicago Public Schools. This grew to become one of the largest district-level Chinese programs in the USA.
For the past decade, Robert has run the Chinese Language and Culture Initiative at The College Board. He helped bring valuable resources for the teaching and learning of Chinese to hundreds of districts across the USA. Davis served as a China Education Advisor to several US politicians and policy makers.
With a degree in Art History from Northern Illinois University, Davis is currently based in Highland Park, Illinois. He lives here with his wife and two daughters.
